Vincent has always been fascinated with those parts of society that many of us never encounter – the urban subcultures that exist all around us, yet are often invisible to us unless we are ourselves a part of them. Many of his arresting portraits are built on the assumption that society will always identify with rebels and this gritty unseen world, and his spectacular success has demonstrated that there is more than a little truth in this. ‘Peaky Blinders’, the cult TV series set on the lawless streets of 1920s Birmingham, struck a chord with Vincent for this reason, and he has been granted special access to exclusive imagery from the show which he is able to draw on for his current projects.
